CLASS BRASS: Joyful Music for Brass Choirs, from Renaissance to Jazz
Orchestral music isn't just about strings – great composers have written an astonishing variety of works for the brass instruments, alone and together. In this concert, Ethos West will feature a sampling of brass music from different periods and genres, from a lovely polychoral Renaissance work by Gabrieli, to Classical and Romantic works showcasing different instrumental combinations, to some rousing 20th century Third-Stream and, as always with Ethos, some jazz. What it all has in common is the exhilarating character of brass music. Come and be stirred, inspired, and uplifted!
2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2009
